Class 1 - Autumn Term 2017
Our week in class 1
After our trip to Attingham Park, we looked at the maps we followed when we were there. We identified the places we visited and then started to draw our own maps.
We found the natural features we saw and the man-made features we found. We then thought about the routes we walked and followed them on our own maps.
We worked inside and out to draw maps and give directions to our friends to get from one point to another.

We loved the music so much we had a go at making our own jazz music!
This week in class 1. 16.10.17
This week we have been learning about 2D shapes. We looked at how many sides each shape had and if they were curved or straight. We then decided which ones would be best to use when making a castle picture.
We found out the best shapes were the ones with straight sides as they fitted together better and the baddies wouldn't be able to get in so easily! We did use a curved sided shape to draw the top of the door though!
Our week in class1. 2.10.17

We have had lots of fun creating our own castles out of many types of materials. Come and have a look at our role play in the classroom we have made.

This week we have been researching 'Harvest'. We have been looking in books and talking to each other about what harvest means to us.
We worked together in groups to make bread to celebrate harvest festival at St Lucia's.
We used a lot of skills - measuring, pouring, stirring, kneading and communicating with our friends. We also had to be patient waiting for the dough to prove and then bake. It was worth the wait though, it smelt and tasted delicious!
