Class 2 Autumn Term 2017
Our visit to Attingham Park
To observe seasonal change we visited the beautiful grounds of Attingham Park this November. We worked in small groups to create woodland art in the shape of hearts by collecting natural materials we could find. We were very pleased with our designs!
This tree is extremely old. We measured its circumference using our hands which we then converted to metres.
There was even time to play in the play park where we explored forces as part of our science learning.
We were lucky to see the deer up closely and watched them being fed breakfast. We learned a lot about the fallow deers patterns and Colin answered lots of our questions.
What a wonderful day we had!

Science-Seasonal Change
Everyone helped to collect something from our school field and hedgerow as part of science. We looked closely at the different shades and shapes of the items we found.
Science-Forces
We constructed our own vehicles and investigated if they would be strong enough to carry a book. Our designs were improved and our results worked well.
Road Safety
We looked at road safety and thought about the forces we need to move a scooter and a bike.
Science-Forces
Today we explored pushes and pulls on the playground using throwing and catching skills.
Whittington Castle
Class 2 experienced a wonderful visit to Whittington Castle today to support the start of their new topic on Castles.
We dressed up in costumes and worked together in groups to find clues and information out about the castle through an adventure trial and quiz - it was great fun!
