Class 2 Summer 2015
Maths
This week in maths class 2 have been testing their programming skills using Beebots. We have learnt about algorithms and found out how to program the Beebot to go in the shape of numbers and letters.
Animal Habitats
We have been finding out about different animal habitats as part of our science work. Lots of mini beasts were discovered in our Forest School area in damp and dry conditions.
LOOK WHAT WE FOUND!
We identified where different animal live and the unique features they have to help them survive in the Antarctic, the Sea, the Desert and in Rainforest habitats. Posters were designed in pairs and we played practical matching habitat games in small groups. It was great fun and helped us develop our understanding of the environments different animals live in!
Sir Steve Redgrave
As part of their water topic, class 2 have learnt all about Sir Steve Redgrave. Read about what they have done in their reports! We wrote letters to Sir Steve and we're lucky enough to receive an email back.
Places Past and Present
As part of our topic 'Places Past and Present', children in Year 1 and Year 2 used a range of art pencils to explore different sketching effects to sketch St Lucia's Church.
Class 2 visit to The Quarry and Sabrina Boat Tour with Class 1
Class 1 and 2 enjoyed a local visit to the Shrewsbury Quarry Park on Thursday 16th April and experienced the Sabrina River Boat Tour to learn first hand information about all the different bridges!
After walking across the different bridges in Shrewsbury Quarry Park, we sketched the Porthill bridge and painted The Welsh bridge using water colours. Here are a few examples of our pictures
