Class 3 Summer Term 2015
Design and Technology
Class 3 are making bendy bags as part of our textiles project in D and T. We have made paper patterns and used these to cut out our fabric. The bendy part of the bag is made from two pieces of plastic sewn into two seams at the top of the bag. It has been great fun and we can now do running stitch and sew a button on!
PGL
Science
Class 3 have been investigating string telephones as part of our work on sound. We followed instructions to make the telephone and then explored how to improve it.
3D Shapes
Year 3 have been creating 3D shapes from drawings. We have been using mathematical language to identify and count faces, edges and vertices and to name the shapes.
Sketching
In Class 3 we have been sketching in the local area as part of our topic on investigating places past and present. Following this work we have been studying other media. We have chosen one of our sketches and reproduced it in pencil, ink, coloured pencils, pastels and charcoal.
Here are some of our results.
