Class 3 Summer Term 2017
Pioneer 2017
D & T July 2017
Open The Book Wednesday 12th July
The story this month was The Storm on the Lake.
We thought about things that worry us or make us feel afraid after listening to the story of how the friends of Jesus grew afraid after there was a storm on the lake. Jesus calmed them and told them not to be frightened.
The ladies from Open the Book were presented with cards made by some of the children to thank them for all their hard work. A BIG thank you from all of us at St Lucia's.

Pentecost
Class 3 were invited to St. Lucia's Church to take part in a Pentecost Experience. We worked on a range of activities to help us understand the importance of Pentecost in the Christian calendar.
We would like to thank Diane, Eileen, Margaret, Lin, Joyce, Sharon, Rosalie and Louise for all the hard work they put into the activities and for the time that they spent with us.

Science - Kaleidoscope
In Class 3 we have been investigating kaleidoscopes using two or more mirrors to make multiple reflections. We then photographed our findings. It was great fun!
English - Shadows
We recited the poem My Shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson. We used our photographs as a slide show on the interactive board.
Science - Shadows
We have been investigating shadows and how they change during the day.
Art - Shadows
We have been investigating shadows in science. We then took photographs of our shadows on the playground and then used these to create some fantastic art work.
French Breakfast
Class 3 enjoyed making pain au chocolat and croissants as part of their French breakfast with Madame Morecroft. They also tasted crusty baguette and jam and hot chocolate. A big thank you to Madame Morecroft.
