Following the Safer Schools meeting last week, the school has been awarded the Safer Schools re-accreditation for another year. Thank you to the parents who returned their questionnaires on time. Your views were carefully considered and are important to us. We will share the proposed improvements to the school site in a letter next week.
Tuesday created lots of excitement for the whole community of Upton Magna when we
welcomed the celebrity Zoe Ball into the village.
The arrival in Upton Magna came at the end of day 2 of Zoe’s Hard Ride Home. The purpose of this challenging bike ride as part of Sports Relief was to raise awareness of mental heath and emotional well-being. Well done Zoe on your brilliant effort! We really enjoyed meeting you too!
As one of our school’s priorities this year, we are focusing on how to support children to communicate and express their feelings clearly. Positive mind set strategies and Mindfulness principles are being shared with the children. Class 2 and 3 also
participated in simple activities on Friday to support friendships, relationships and feelings through a visit and presentation from Ellie and Heather at Shrewsbury’s Sixth Form College. Thank you!
We have received confirmation via the Parish Council that Zoe Ball is now expected to arrive in Upton Magna Village tomorrow, Tuesday 6th March. An earlier time of around 4.30/5.00pm is now expected as part of a Sport Relief Bike Cycle Ride Challenge! Zoe will be leaving for the next stage of her cycle route early on Wednesday morning 7th March around 7.00am onwards approx. The BBC will be filming Zoe’s incredible journey. Please try and support if you can. It is suggested that parents park on the Village Hall car park and not at The Haughmond. The Village Shop will also stay open later on Tuesday night
