On Thursday year 5 & 6 went to Wrekin College for their first Kwik Cricket tournament. After all the practise they had put in at lunchtimes over the last couple of weeks they turned up full of confidence. This was until Mr McGrath received a copy of the rules which were extremely different from ones we had been practising! This wouldn't stop them though and within an hour the team had won 3 games out of 3 and won their group. They were then grouped with the other top teams and continued where they left off, winning their first game. Following this, a very narrow loss to the eventual winners and second placed team meant St Lucia's finished 3rd overall. This didn't dampen any spirits and the team returned feeling very happy and proud! Mr McGrath would like to thank all the year 5's and 6's who came to cricket every lunchtime and also the team for being such a pleasure to watch on the day. I'm already looking forward to the next tournament!

The Fund Raising committee held a meeting to discuss and share pupils' ideas. This information has been presented by the committee members during Friday's sharing assembly. Themes for the non-uniform day are - wear red, or come to school dressed as your favourite book character. There will be a cake sale at the morning break time. Smaller items will also be available to purchase from the Fairtrade and SHAPE stalls (chocolate, snack bars, craft items, pencils and friendship bracelets). Any cake donations would be very much appreciated! A dance competition is also being organised by the Fund Raising committee at lunchtime (20p entry fee). As you can see, we have a very busy day planned! There is a Friend's meeting on Wednesday 4th March at 3.15 pm.
