The St Lucia’s Friends (very similar to a PTA) is a group of parents who organise fund raising events throughout the year for the benefit of the children in school. They will be holding their AGM meeting tonight at 7pm in the Haughmond Village Store. Please support them, even if you are not able to offer regular on-going commitment, any help with even one future event would always be appreciated.

It has been brought to the school’s attention that some parents have unfortunately been parking without consideration for village residents. Last week, a local resident could not leave their driveway due to cars parking across their drive access. Please be considerate to others when parking. There are additional spaces at the Village Hall car park when
parking on the lane is limited. Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation. Proceeds to St. Lucia’s Church. Please leave donations of cakes, produce, bottles, toys and vouchers at The Haughmond or with Joyce opposite.
If you are interested in a Christmas get together with other mums from school, a night
out at the Albrighton Hussey has been arranged for Friday 1st December. 3 course meal and disco £30 per head. Please contact Becci Lloyd or Robina Reeves by 30th October to secure your place with a £10 deposit. If you are in contact with any of our previous Year 6pupils (now Year 7s), please remind them that on Thursday 19th October 4.30-5.30pm they are invited to the ’Tea, Toast and Twitter’ get together in the school hall. This will provide the opportunity for a catch up and to share their new experiences of secondary school.
Thank you for all your support with the food donations and Macmillan coffee afternoon last Monday. A total of £114 was raised for the Cancer Support charity from the sale of drinks and cakes. Well done to the school council members who designed and ran some
of the games which also contributed to this total. |
