Willow class had an exciting start to their new topic all about World War Two.
We began the day by learning about life on the Home Front. The children were fascinated by how people adapted to challenges like rationing and air raids. We talked about how different life was for families during the war and the importance of community spirit.
Next, we all completed a project about an area of World War 2 we were interested in. I was incredibly impressed by the variety of projects produced.
Using maps and atlases, we explored which countries were involved in the war and where key events took place. We also discussed how people in the UK were affected by events around the world and how global the conflict really was.
The costumes were brilliant and really brought the day to life. We had evacuees, air raid wardens, nurses, soldiers and even a Spitfire! Everyone made a huge effort and looked fantastic. Thank you so much to all the parents and carers for supporting the day with such creativity.
