Pupils have explored equal and unequal groups, before beginning to identify splitting into equal fractions of halves, quarters and thirds. Pupils enjoyed using concrete resources such as playdough, exploring fractions of shapes and fractions of quantities. A highlight of the fraction unit was the challenge to cut the sweets into different fractions so that we could compare them!
