Willow class had an excellent topic day, dressed in our World War Two & energy costumes.

As part of our learning, we discovered the role of maths in winning the war (how exciting!). First, we had an escape room where we used in our ‘Bletchley Park’ knowledge to crack codes and escape.

We also built science circuits, altering the power sources and introducing potatoes. We learnt that these can power circuits as they bring their own power by moving electrons through zinc and copper connections.

We also powered a lightbulb through use of a motor converting wind power generated by a handheld windmill. This is a desktop replica of the larger scale wind turbines seen across the country.
