As part of our recent trip, Class 3 walked to the top of Norton Hill, near Craven Arms. On the way up the hill they looked for landmarks such as the Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre where we had spent the morning, and nearby Stokesay Castle. After an exciting and incredibly muddy walk, we finally made it to the top. The children looked carefully for recognisable features of a hillfort, identifying ones that were still there such as the spring. The children were amazed by size of the hillfort and got a great insight into life at that time. Most of them also thoroughly enjoyed the mud!
